assetcube

today, i made assetcube. assetcube is a static image hosting service similar to file garden and catbox. let's take a look at it:

at first glance, it is really simple. you select a namespace, provide an upload key and upload the file!...but wait, what's a "namespace" and "upload key"?

well, namespaces are your unique username after /u/. for example, my namespace is sctech, so my url is https://assetcube.netlify.app/u/sctech/filenamehere.png. simple!

upload keys are like passcodes specific to each namespace. you need them to upload files to a namespace. i provide these upload keys on signup.

after that, it's quite simple! just select a file, and click that upload button! get your link at the bottom.

you can't just upload every file, though. BUT you can upload any sfw png, jpeg, gif, webp (sucks ik), and svg below 2MB! that may seem like little, but i actually looked at my website's images before choosing that. my maximum image is 1.4MB, and that's because it's 1920x1080. so 2MB is pretty nice :D

speaking of signup,  let's look at that:

making an account is currently manual, you have to email me to get an account. i may change this in the future, but currently, you must make accounts manually. sorry!

the frontend and backend is hosted on netlify, with serverless functions used for the upload process. the storage is a bucket, and the accounts are stored on a database on supabase.

thanks for coming to my post, and bye!
